WANTS SALARY CUT
Columbus, Indiana, Jan. 14-Explaining that it is a shame to take the money,
Frank P. Smith of the Columbus & Seymour Traction Company has notified the
company officials that he will not work for them any longer unless they cut
his salary.
He says he is being paid too much for his services. The Columbus & Seymour
Traction is a local concern organized to extend to Seymour the line of the
Indianapolis, Columbus and Southern Traction Company. Mr. Smith was made
an officer, and it became his duty to ride up and down the right of way in
an automobile and see that everything was moving properly.
Now he has notified his fellow officials that he could not work longer for
the salary he was receiving. When they suggested an increase, he said it
was a cut, not a raise that he wished.
