Everyone on this list should have this site bookmarked:
http://civilwarindiana.com/ It's all about Indiana in the Civil War.
It has regimental histories, photo archive, Indiana's role in the Civil
War, etc.
However, it also has VERY ANNOYING gunfire when you go to the main page
- beware!!
Ancestry has the pension index on their site, however you need to be a
paying member in order to access it. For details about your ancestor's
service, you'll need to order copies of either the pension records (best
for genealogical information) or compiled military service records from
NARA -

My Great Grandfather, Richard A. Conner from Jennings Co. and several
Jennings Co. neighbors under Hageman Tripp, I think, joined up
immediately
after the outbreak of war. I find one site on the Internet
describing the 6th
IN battles and command structure, and the roster of one
company, A, as I
recall. Also a few references elsewhere, i.e., battle of
Shiloh under General
or Colonel Crittenden.
Does anyone have any details describing the service of the 6th, or
information or ancestor information about Company G in
particular that they
can share or recommend? Any specific other web sites? Thanks
