Travis,
I suspect that John Deutsch might have been buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville,
Indiana. Many
soldiers, both Union and Confederate, who died in Evansville during that time were buried
in Oak
Hill. I looked through a list of burials that took place during the Civil War in Oak Hill
Cemetery,
but did not find him listed. It is possible that he is one of many "unknown"
soldiers that were
buried there. You might inquire directly to Oak Hill Cemetery. They would probably do a
look-up
for you. You might also inquire on the Vanderburgh County Rootsweb Message Board.

Does anyone on the list know if there is a listing of burials/deaths
from the Evansville General
Hospital? In particular, I'm looking for more
information on a John J. Deutsch of the 13th Conn.
Infantry, who died September 30, 1863 at the hospital. I just received his service
records
yesterday, and it stated that he died there. I've not had any luck in finding a
cemetery listing
for him in Evansville. He had enlisted in New Orleans, LA, was a musician, and may have
been a
Confederate at first [unproven].
