I would like to break through a brick wall. My 2nd great-grandfather, Clark Culbertson
was mustered in 21 Aug 1962, Indianapolis, IN. Company D, 74th Indiana Vol. His company
was mustered out 9 June 1865, Washington DC.
He died 1910, Greene County, IN.
This company was organized at Ft. Wayne, IN, so I think he was living in Noble County or
Allen County at that time.
I wrote for his military papers, and received a letter back that there was no Clark
Culbertson.
It is my believe that Clark was his nickname or possibly his middle name, and he enlisted
under his first name, which I do not know.
Can someone help me out with this?
I know there is a roster out there with the names of the soldiers in this Regiment, but it
is a PDF file which would take over 10 hours to download. This regiment is on page 204 of
that book. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to go to view this book in person?
Thanks for any help.
