Recently heard info that I thought was important to share. There is a man that lives in
Las Vegas area who has his hands on a Civil War Field Officer's Desk. The desk is
FILLED completely with Profiles, Enlisted Records, Tin-Photos of the men enlisted,
Muster-Rolls etc in regards to the 10th Indiana Civil War Regiments.
He inherited them ultimately from his 2nd great-grandfather who was the Field Officer for
the regiment in charge of documenting everything. I am so sorry I do not recall his name
but thought people searching for this regiments documents, that you may or may not be
hitting a dead end in your search. I guess he tried taking it into a pawn shop to sell
altogether and the shop turned him down arguing it was just so historically important but
also priceless in value since it was his grandfather. If you have hit a dead end,
regarding the 10th Indiana- this is why. This man has everything in pristine condition as
if it were all done yesterday. I wish searches good luck. Hope this helps someone. Maybe
someone can post an inquiry in the Las Vegas area to find him.
