Hi Griffith Family,
Are you speaking of John M. Griffith of Miami Co. IN? I'm also working on John M.
Griffith 1865-1893. I have most of his descendants.
I am stuck on his brother William and have a question?
The Ia you see in the 1850 Census Stands for Indiana. In the 1850 Census only. The Census
Bureau stated: States with short names where to be spelled out,as in Iowa; states with
longer names used first and last letters of the state name. Sure caused Indiana to loose a
lot of their citizens.
If I can be of help email me at SnOOOpy839(a)aol.com 3'O's Not Zeros
