Duane,
I am kind of stumped why he would have transferred into the 58th IN INF. The
101st mustered out just 31 days before the 58th IN INF at Louisville. I did
look for him in the 1860,1870,1880 cencus and didnt see anything that
matched up with him.

Subject: [IN-CIVIL-WAR] James H HIBBARD
Hello,
I'm looking for information on my 2nd great grandfather James H HIBBARD.
He was born January 1828 in Hamilton County Ohio. He married my second
great grandmother Agnes KIRTLEY December 24 1848 in Dearborn County
Indiana. February 21 1864 at the age of 36 he volunteered in Wabash
Indiana in the 101st Co K Indiana Infantry for three years and served
until he mustered out near Louisville Kentucky to the 58th Indiana
Infantry June 24th 1865. From there I lost him and his family except for
my great grandmother Amelia HIBBARD LUARK and her brother William H
HIBBARD and both lived in Wabash Indiana. Besides not being able to find
my 2nd great grandparents I also have no idea what happen to two children
Catherine b. 1849 in Indiana and Benjamin P HIBBARD b. in Indiana. James's
Military records stop when he transferred to the 58th Indiana regiment and
there are no pension records for him. I've searched for them for a couple
years now and am getting very frustrated. Any help will be g!
reat appreciated.
