John T Roberts was my gggg-grandfather. James Kenneth Roberts of Jeffersonville, IN,
states that his father told him that John T Roberts walked to Boston to kill General Hull
because he knew that he was a traitor, but Hull had already gone to England. John
enlisted in the War of 1812 at Shelbyville Ky. Army pay was $6.66 a month and
Esther's pension was $8.00 per month. John T Roberts was a spy in the war of 1812 per
Captain Ballard Bland.
Information was obtained from Bible records, Military archives, 1850 census Washington
Co., IN, 1830 census Washington Co., IN., and Martinsburg Cemetery records.War of 1812.
