Subject: tombstone restoration workshop
This message is to let you know about a tombstone restoration
workshop that will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, from 9-3, at Mt
Olivet Cemetery south of the village of Catlin in Florida Twp,
Parke Co, IN.
Helen Wildermuth of Stonehugger Cemetery Restoration and Mark Davis
of Stonesaver Cemetery Restoration will be instructors for the
on-site workshop. No registration, just come to learn current best
practice repair techniques.
Directional signs will start on the southwest corner of the square
in Rockville. Mt Olivet is located on the Rockville-Rosedale Road
(Market Street). It is not hard to find, just keep going down the
road through Catlin.
The workshop is part of an on-going restoration at Mt Olivet
Cemetery, where 30 tombstones will be repaired during the last two
weeks in May. The Parke County Community Foundation provided the
majority of the funding for this project as a grant to reward
volunteer efforts in the county.
Participants to this free workshop should bring sack lunches and
drinks. Bug spray and sun screen is advised. Questions?
