There are FIVE cemetery restoration workshops scheduled between now and
October in various locations in Indiana, including:
4/28/01: Lafayette
5/19/01: Kokomo
6/16/01: LaPorte
7/13-14/01: Indianapolis (part of the IHS Genealogy Conference)
10/06/01: Madison
In addition, the Fayette County Cemetery Commission is having an Open House in
Connersville on May 12 to celebrate the outstanding success of that project
under the guidance and skilled hands of John Walters as Cemetery Supervisor.
All of the workshops will feature morning speakers on subjects relating to the
identification, protection and preservation of pioneer cemeteries while the
afternoon sessions will feature on-site demonstrations of stone cleaning and
repair techniques in local cemeteries.
These are all excellent opportunities to learn from some of most experienced
cemetery restorers in the State, men and women who are out working in pioneer
cemeteries on a regular basis and who are more than happy to answer your
questions and share some of the benefit of their experiences.
If you are interested in details on any of these workshops and seminars,
