I am looking for the grave of Eliza (Lanter) Milner. Her death would have
been about 1842.
My ggm was Frances Ann Milner, b. 28 Apr 1842. Her father was Hugh Milner,
b. 1808, place unknown. We have no family record of his wife's name, but we
do know that she died either at Frances' birth, or within a year or two
after. He never remarried, and raised Frances in Harrison County, Kentucky.
She married (John) Wesley Warnock in Connersville, Harrison Co. KY on 30
Nov. 1860.
I have only two clues to the identity and place of burial for Eliza
(Elizabeth?) Lanter Milner.
(1) In Abstracted County Court Records, Harrison Co. KY, I found "Hugh
Milner married Eliza Lanter; Bond #3445; date Jun 12, 1841 "Consent of
Benjamin Lanter for the marriage of my daughter, Eliza". [Since he was
probably the only Hugh Milner in the area, and the date fits in with
Frances' birth date, I feel fairly certain that these are Frances' parents.]
(2) Frances' obituary states "Frances Ann Milner was born in Indiana April
28, 1842. She was reared in Connersville, Kentucky . . . "
My speculation is that Eliza went "home" to Indiana for the birth of her
child, and did not survive.
Is there a record of her grave in any of the Indiana cemetery records?
Many thanks,
Virginia
