Bob. Thank you for your kind offer. It may be more than you want to
tackle. My relatives who are buried in the Old Battlefield Cemetery begin
with James McCoy and his wife Malinda Allison McCoy. From my research I
have gathered that Malinda Allison was a daughter of John and Anna Gray
Allison who came to the present Indianapolis area from Kentucky.
James McCoy ( Yup there were McCoys there but not part of the Hatfield/McCoy
ballyhoo) and his wife Malinda had some 7-8 children, one Nelson, was my
ggrandfather. James ( no information) William married Jane Ingram and are
buried in Union Chapel, I have a picture of their headstone. Martha Brunson,
Newton: no information, Julie Ann Rodecker, Nancy Orput and Mary West. I
wonder though if Mary is not a sister of Malinda.
Nelson married Eliza Jane Harbolt and is buried in OBC with at least one
infant child. Her father William Harbolt is buried in OBC also.
If you could take only two pictures I'd want the one for Eliza and of James
and Malinda McCoy. I would be ever so grateful.
Is this cemetery hard to get to, for out of staters? Thank you very much
for replying and for your help of the website, they are all on the list.

Peggy, I have McCoy photo's from Old Battleground and from Union Chapel
cemeteries which are only a mile apart. Will have to send them to your home
e-mail.. You can now stop calling the cemetery BATTLEFIELD, for it is
BATTLEGROUND.
You mentioned your McCoy's came from Kentucky.. There you are! The few
McCoy's who were left behind shot it out at home!! I just know it! L.O.L.
When you are ready to come to Indy for a "roots-tour", I will meet you some
place and give you a tour of these two cemeteries, and whoever else on this
list wants to come.. Bob Alloway
