Trying to find the unknow parents and siblings to the below person, Lena
Keitner/Kettner or Lena Landreth. I am unsure if her maiden name was Kettner
or Landreth at this time. One family member has it as Keitner/Kettner and on
a document from the orphans home it shows her as a Landreth (dont know if
that was a married last name or a maiden name).
In my research I found the following:
a) In the Register French Orphans home, it shows Ada May Scarbrough age 5,
father James Scarbrough (dead) mother Lena Landreth, date admitted to
orphans home Oct 4 1903 Gibson County Indiana, From township Patoka, date
placed Oct 8 1904 , by mother lena Killian of Princeton...can't make out
entire remarks ...."-- mother".
b)Ada Mae Scarbrough was born in Pinceton, Gordon County (Gibson) Indiana.
Her mother was Lena Kettner or Keitner. Mae was part Cherokee from her
mothers side of the family. Mae told of being in a wagon during the Cherokee
Strip Land Run. This would seem to indicate that she lived in Oklahoma at
the time of their marriage. Mae and Orville divorced some years later and
she married Ed Lea.Any help would be great.
