I think it's the cemeteries that remove the flowers.
Most cemeteries around here have signs that say they
remove flowers at certain times of the year (I think
it's prior to Memorial Day and late fall). I think
they also remove any flowers that get in the way of
them mowing. Personally, I think it's better that way.
Whether the flowers are real or silk they'll
eventually rot or fade and then they don't look nice
anymore. Perhaps if you contacted the cemetery
caretakers and asked them, they might be willing to
leave them a bit longer?

It wouldn't bother me as much is vandals just stole
vases, however, they
steal my floweres. I place flowers at five
differenct cemeteries and
everytime I go back, my flowers are gone. They
could take the vases and
leave the flowers and I wouldn't feel quite so
badly.
