Howdy, Bruce,
I have not gotten any further regarding the location of the Negley Cemetery. I have a
cousin in Evansville, but she's pretty busy, and we have not yet got together in
Indiana. Maybe this year.
My great grandmother is Elizabeth Walker, the daughter of John and Mary Walton Walker.
Elizabeth married Ferdinand Phillip Marsteller, and Josephine Louise Marsteller married my
Grandmother's father, James Comfort Patten. My notes on the Walkers are small pieces,
with many doubtful spellings, etc., from my father. He thought the Walker's were from
Hulton Bagnel parish, England, and had dates for their marriage, but there was no
documentation. Thomas Walker, John's brother, is listed in the censuses asa a
preacher in Patoka, IN, and may have been the one who met the Marsteller kids in New
Orleans following the death of their parents in Mexico.
All very sketchy.
Will keep you informed if I hear anything of the Neglel Cemetery. If you have much on the
Walkers in England or early in their stay in the US, would appreciate it.
Many Thanks,
Dick Lockwood
