Hello everyone,
I am looking for help with my family line. I am searching for Isaac Collins
(Isaac F. Collins) whom married Mary Ann Harshia. I am sending along all
information found so far on this couple. Please be kind and help me. Any
help is wounderful. The following is a family history:
1. Isaac F. COLLINS. Born 1838 in VA. Died After 1887 but Before Aug 1890 in
Alexander Cty Illinois. Occupation Farmer. Military Co. B., 26th Indiana
Infantry.

In 1850 he is in Palmyra township in Knox Co age 19 bn VA as a laborer living
with a Jesse Barbre 27 bn IN, listed as a farmer/physician; wife Elizabeth 23
bn IN and son Wm 1. Also in that house is: Jane L. McCord 27 and her
daughter Mary 2. Also, a Catherine Conley 18. bn IN; Hannah Elliott 18 and
William Crouse 13 both bn IN. That is a strange collection of people in that
house! I have a note alongside the census listing that Isaac married a Mary
Ann Harsha 9 July 1853. What do you know about Isaac? I haven't worked on
that family for a while and his coming from VA makes me think that he isn't
of the lines I'm following as they were all in IN by 1820.

Knox Co record that I have in paper form. Jesse Barbre (Barber) married an
Elizabeth Elliot--1848. Hiram Collins married Jane McCord in 1854--she was
one of the gals in that household. Didn't find Isaac in the 1860 census--he
may have been missed. BUT!!! in 1870 in Harrison township is: Isaac Collins
36 works in a mill bn--get this--MO! Wife Mary A. 35 In; Daniel R. 13;
Elizabeth A 11; Charles F. 9; Laura J, 6 Aurena M 4 and Lydia J. 1 all kids
bn IN. I tried to find Hiram and Jane but they weren't in the Co. I do know
that Hiram is connected to my husbands family. Drat! now you have me
curious about these folks. There were a lot of them in the Co early on and I
believe that I have the earliest ones marrying cousins--just to make it
harder! Have you checked with that Co in Ill for a D.record for Isaac? Some
counties had them that early. Let me know what you find--Lynne
