I found an obituary once from a young mother who committed suicide in 1882. She was buried
in a small town cemetery near where she lived. There was no mention of any treatment of
her passing that was any different than usual and her grave is marked in typical fashion.
But other than that once instance dating 25 years after your time frame, I don't know
of any customs or traditions that would have been different. You might try contacting
someone from the Reformed Church, they might have more information.
