Hi
I am interrupting here in the hope someone will be able to asist me with tracing a William
Scott who emigrated to USA during 1905 along with his wife Elspet or Elsie (m.S. Grant)
and their son Alexander Grant Scott. It would appear they settled in Indianapolis and that
William may have died shortly afterwards. Elspet is shown as marrying an Allan Syme in
Marion County, Indiana on 7 November 1908. They settled at 5324 West St Clair Street,
Indianapolis which is the address given by Alexander Grant Scott when he enlisted in the
Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1918 and gave his mother's name as Elsie Syme. After
the war the family moved to Wayne, Michigan and Alexander took out Naturalisation Papers
in May 1938 and died in 1967. I have found much of the information I need for this family
group but would like to close the record for William so any help would be appreciated.
Ian A C Scott
