This sounds like my Allen Smith from Jackson Co., IN. He appears with his
wife Susanna Miller and two children, my great-grandmother Candis Arminta
Smith and her brother Joshua in the 1850 census, Jackson Co., IN. My Allen
was born abt. 1828. I found them in a tree and she had married an Adams in
Illinois. Her father was Judge Adam Miller of Brownston?, Jackson Co., IN.
I found their marriage record and that is all I can find. Allen was born in
Kentucky but where in Kentucky? There was another Allen Smith about the
same age who married in an adjoining county and they are not the same. He
was also born in Kentucky as I have checked the census records. The person
who put the Adams tree on had very good documentation but was clueless as to
what happened to Allen. I can not find cemetery records for Jackson Co., IN
and thought someone here might have a clue. Thank you, Pat Morano
