Hello List,
I am researching the Sedrick surname. My Great-Grandfather was names James
Monroe Sedrick born in 1846. I have no other information about
him. As Sedrick is a fairly unique surname I am wondering if it shows up
anywhere on anyone's data files. As I am new to this I don't know where else
to start.
Thank You in advance for any help.
Glen A. Sedrick

Subject: [IN-CEM] Cemetery Trustees
I'm curious do you all know about Cemetery Trustees?
It is my understanding if a cemetery is still allowing burials, someone
must keep records. The purpose of these records is to prevent burying
someone, where someone else is already buried.
It isn't always easy to find out who the Trustee of a cemetery is, but
sometimes Funeral Directors can be a wealth of information. The trustee
has information on all individuals buried in the cemetery, not just those
with a tombstone.
Thanks to a helpful Trustee, I now know the exact resting place of two of
my siblings who died as infants and never had markers.
Hope this helps someone find a long lost relative.
Happy hunting!!
Patti
