The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Ben Harrison Camp No. 356 from
Indianapolis, will be conducting their annual Memorial Day ceremony at the
grave of Private John W. Gentry, located in the Pioneer Cemetery on the
north grounds of Crown Hill Cemetery located in Indianapolis. The short
20-minute dedication will take place on Monday, May 25, 2009 and will start
at 11:15AM. A Civil War honor guard will be present and will fire a riffle
salute at the end of the ceremony. This ceremony is free and the public is

Private John W. Gentry was one of 33 pioneers moved to Crown Hill's Pioneer
Section in June 2008 from the Wright-Gentry-Whitesell cemetery located on
the NE side of Indianapolis.
