James Frederick Gidcumb

James F. Gidcumb, 66, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Carmi, died
Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at San Antonio.
He was born March 26, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo., to R.A. "Don" and Anita
(Gasaway) Gidcumb. Don Gidcumb owned and operated Gidcumb Furniture in the
1950s and the Dog N Suds Drive In in the early 1960s.
James F. Gidcumb graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1959, Eastern
Illinois University in 1963 and the University of Southern Indiana in 1995.
He was a member of the Texas Nurses Association, Carmi First Baptist Church
and Castle Hills First Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas.
He is survived by a daughter, Kelli Gidcumb of Springfield; a brother and
sister-in-law, John and Lois Gidcumb of San Antonio, Texas; two nephews; Bob
Gidcumb of San Antonio, and Brad Gidcumb of Denver, Co.; and a niece,
Elizabeth (Gidcumb) Atkins, of New York City.
Mr. Gidcumb will be buried at Webber Campground Cemetery in Harrisburg,
following a private family service. For those who wish, the family's
