Wesley O. Mick, Jr., 63 of Crossville, passed away at his home on December
6, 2017. He was born on August 5, 1954 in Evansville, the son of Wesley O.
and Barbara M. (Roeder) Mick, Sr. He married Sandra K. Howard on December
12, 1975 in Grayville, and she survives.

Mick-Bane; sons, Wesley M. (Angela) Mick and Brandon J. (Robbie) Mick and
daughter, Samantha (Billy) Peach; grandchildren, Stephanie (Trenton) Jenny,
Kelsey Mobley (Mike Brown), Devin Peach, Alex Weedon, and Akira Mick;
great-grandchildren, Tristen Jenny, Preston Jenny, Cody Weedon, and Dillion
Weedon; brother, John R. (Christine) Mick, and sister, Jennifer (Tony) Loyd.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley O. Mick, Sr.

Robert O.W. "Orval" Pretzsch
February 20, 1918 ~ December 6, 2017 (age 99)
Robert O. W. "Orval" Pretzsch, 99, of Carmi, passed away at Carmi Manor
Nursing Home in Carmi on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. He was born on
February 20, 1918 in Carmi, the son of Fred J. and Bertha Gertrude (Rister)
Pretzsch. He married Lillie Cartmill on January 8, 1938 in Concord and she
Mr. Pretzsch was a mail carrier for 25 years. He served in
the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a lifetime member of VFW, belonged to the
Carmi Saddle Club, enjoyed going to the White County Senior Citizens and had
served on the Board. He loved woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie; sons, James (Patty)
Pretzsch, and Robert F. (Barbara) Pretzsch; daughter, Linda Joyce (Ron)
Lounsbery; grandchildren, Keith (Michelle) Lounsbery, Kenneth Lounsbery,
Rene Lounsbery, Lynda Jean (David) Powers, Rob Pretzsch, Carrie Ann (Brad)
Gates; great-grandchildren, Jaclyn and Sean Powers, Brooks (Naomi)
Lounsbery, Joseph and Alexus Gates; great-great grandchildren, Lily Ann and
Luke Lounsbery; sister, Anna Jones. He was preceded in death by brothers,
Edward, Archie, and Laverne and sisters, Ruby Kearney and Helen Shelton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday,
December 9, 2017 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Braden
Willis Officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Burial will be in Kingdom Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the
combined units of the Carmi American Legion and VFW. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to Carmi Manor Nursing Home or Cystic Fibrosis

Carla Joan Taylor Ediger, 57, formerly of Carmi, Illinois, died Tuesday,
December 5, 2017, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born
August 3, 1960, in Carmi, the daughter of Carl L. and Bonnie (Goddard)
Taylor. She was married to Duane Ediger on February 14, 1998, and he
Carla was an accountant and attended Oasis Church in Nashville. She was very
active in BSF (a bible fellowship group), and she enjoyed watching movies
Survivors include her husband, Duane Ediger of Nolensville, Tennessee;
mother Bonnie Taylor of Carmi; son Jason Ediger of Santa Rosa, California;
daughter Brooke (Zach) Boor of Hot Sulfur Springs, Colorado; brother Mark
Alan (Vicky) Taylor of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren Scarlet Ediger
and Leonard Boor.
She is preceded in death by her father.
Visitation and funeral are Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Crossroads Church
in Norris City, Illinois. Visitation is at 10:00 am and funeral is at 11:00
am. Burial is in Taylor Cemetery in Vienna, Illinois.

Ruth E. Thomas | 1929 - 2017 | Obituary
Ruth E. Thomas, 88, of Carmi, Illinois, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at
Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, Illinois. She was born June 14,
1929, in Norris City, Illinois, the daughter of Charles H. and Audrey Mae
(Pearce) Satterfield. She was married to D.S. Thomas on September 3, 1977,
and he preceded her in death in 1993.
Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmi. Her work
career includes Ainsbrook Corporation and Wags Grocery Store.
Survivors include son Keith (Kathy) Millspaugh of Newton, Illinois;
daughter-in-law Jane (Jim) Oglesby of Kentucky; stepsons Steve Thomas of Mt.
Vernon, Illinois, and Bill Thomas of Xenia, Ohio; step daughter Sandra of
Xenia; grandchildren Jeremy (Tiffany) Millspaugh, Amber (Rick) Lindemann,
Brianne (Aaron) Wilson, Dusty (Samantha) Millspaugh, Whitney Millspaugh;
great-grandchildren RJ, Heidi, Hannah, Eli, Lainey, Caden, Allyssa, Levi,
She is preceded in death by her parents; foster parents Roy and Lena Pearce;
husband; son Duane Millspaugh; sisters Audrey Mae Hedger, Mary Ellen Mears,
Faye Satterfield; brothers Eugene Satterfield, Bill Gott, and Leroy
Visitation and funeral are Friday, December 8, 2017, at Cook Funeral Chapel
in Carmi. Visitation is 11 am and continues until funeral time at 1 pm.
Burial is in White County Memorial Gardens.

John T. "Tommy" Cozart
October 3, 1929 ~ December 4, 2017 (age 88)
John T. "Tommy" Cozart, 88, of Carmi passed away at 2:14 p.m., Monday,
December 4, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born
October 3, 1929 in Harrisburg, IL the son of John C. and Lena Mae (Turner)
Cozart. Tommy married Nina M. Anderson on February 25, 1955 in McLeansboro,
IL. He attended school in Mounds, IL and after graduation he faithfully
served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tommy worked as
a railroad engineer on the New York Central and Conrail. He also farmed and
raised cattle. Tommy was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church where
he served as superintendent. He was a member of the Carmi American Legion
and VFW and White County Farm Bureau.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nina of Carmi; a daughter,
Tamara (Dan) Konsler of Henderson, KY; a son, Dennis (Caren) Cozart of
Evansville, IN; brother, Ivan (Mary Lou) Cozart of Norris City; three
grandchildren, Jordan Cozart, Daniel (Katelyn) Flick, Carrie (Brian) Wagner;
and two great-grandchildren, Elli and Easton Wagner. He was preceded in
death by his parents, two sisters, Georgia Pauline Gowdy and Mary Imogene
Smith; and three brothers, Dick, Jim and Bob Cozart.
Funeral services for John T. "Tommy" Cozart, 88, of Carmi will be at
11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi with full military
rites by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be on Saturday
from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tommy's memory to Walnut Grove Baptist
Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
Mary Jane (Boner) Stanhouse
December 31, 1923 ~ November 27, 2017 (age 93)
Mary Jane Stanhouse, 93, of Carmi, passed away at 2:55 p.m, Monday, November
27, 2017 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. She was born in West
Frankfort, IL on December 31, 1923 the daughter of Roy and Mary (McClintock)
Boner. Mary married David Paul Stanhouse and he preceded her in death in
March 1983. She had worked at Washington School as an English and Art
Teacher for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Mary was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Carmi.
Mary is survived by a son, David Bruce (Grace) Stanhouse, of Clayton, MO;
daughter, Kathy (Dr. Carl) Funkhouser, of Carmi; and a sister, Virginia
Taylor, of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and
Mary Boner, her husband, David Stanhouse, two brothers, Roger and Eugene
Boner, and two sisters, Olive Boner and Dorothy Kuehn.
A private graveside funeral services for Mary Jane Stanhouse, 93, of
Carmi were held at 1:00 pm., Friday, December 1, 2017 at Boner Cemetery in
West Frankfort, IL.
