Can you look to see if the squatters lists include any mention of DEES (or DEESE, DEAS,
DEASE, or DIAS)?
I believe that my 4th great grandfather was in the Illinois Territory by about 1806, and
have found mention of him serving in the Illinois Territorial Militia in the 1812 to 1816
Am trying to determine if he came to Illinois Territory with a brother, and perhaps a
cousin. Think the brother went on to Madison County, and the cousin went on to Missouri,
while William DEES and family ended up in Jefferson County.
