Hi Lawrence County researchers. I am Laurel Treat, the web site hosting
county coordinator for the Lawrence County ILGenWeb site.
As many of you have noticed, I am sure, I have not been actively keeping
up with the site the past several months. This past year has been a
rough one for me, my personal life has been in chaos and I have moved
twice, been through some employment issues, internet service problems
and some personal safety trauma.
The web site is not the only part of my life that I am behind on.
However, I have been working hard on getting a number of things taken
care of and I think I can finally see a light at the end of the
proverbial tunnel. But I still am very very short on free time.
I don't think that I have to give up hosting the site just yet, unless
someone else would really like to take it over. I do need to ask that
anyone with submissions, photos etc. for the site would hold off for a
bit please. I have submissions and requests dating back to Nov. 11. I
also have 3 projects started before that time that are also still
hanging. I need to go back and get caught up on all of that before
taking on anything else new. and it is going to take a while.
I sure don't want to discourage any of you from submitting genealogy
data in general. The GenWeb cc's have an internal mailing list and we
communicate back and forth. I know that I have been very lucky to have
Lawrence county because there is so much more active research going on
and data being shared than a lot of the other counties. Other cc's have
told me that they are jealous of "my researchers".
So, to any of you that have sent me something since Nov. 11, I still
have it and will get to it. To those wanting to send more, please hold
on to it for a while. and if any of you would like to take over the
site, let me know. Or if anyone would like to co-host, even for a while,
that might work out too.
