Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Dear List members,
We have now completed the Illinois counties family history links on
our website, except for further updates as we receive more church
records, which is an ongoing task. We are now preparing to enter some
information for counties in Iowa, and Missouri, and have already entered
a few counties for Wisconsin. We have the research well underway for
Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, but in Missouri,
Kentucky, and Indiana, we have a great deal more original research work
to do, and will appreciate help from anyone who knows of the existence of
Primitive Baptist church records or membership lists for those states.
We have made enough revision and addition to our site, to warrant
giving you the URL addresses again, in case you wish to check our site
again, or see it for the first time. We encourage you to write on the
guest books which are at the bottom of two or three of our webpages.

Just an informational note to let ya'll know that the GenConnect boards
that are linked from the various county pages I own, as well as the
surname boards from my personal home page have been altered. Ancestry
made the decision to combine the message board systems from GenConnect
and MyFamily.com into one system.
Currently, you cannot reach this new board system from either my home
page (for the surname boards) or from the county pages. If you are
interested in seeing these boards, please go to www.rootsweb.com and
follow their links to the Message Boards.
One of the reasons I have yet to link them is that they launched the
boards before they were really ready for primetime. As a result the URLs
for the boards continue to change. When that settles down I will create
the links. I also happen to be writing you from out of town, as I'm
attending a family reunion. I will be going home to Seattle on Friday
afternoon, and I'm hoping by then some of the furor will have died down
on the message boards. There will no longer be separate boards for
Queries, Wills, Probates, Bios, etc. They have now all been lumped into
one board. There is supposed to be a way to search them that will allow
easy finding of these former resources, but I need to cull through all
the instructions I'm getting and find the easiest method that truly
Thank you for being patient during this transition. It was not something
that we planned on, and has been very difficult for most of the CCs for
USGenWeb. I will let you know when I have created the new links.
