I was just checking some of my records, and I found that two of Lewis' sons
were named Benjamin and James. You know how names sometimes follow through
the generations. I think we're onto something. Thanks!
Everything helps! The mere fact of so CAUGHRAN burials in Lawrence county
vindicates my time and effort. Lewis CAUGHRAN said on the on 1860 Sebastian
County, ARK census that he was born in Illinois. Who am I to argue? I figure
the Caughrans were there very early on, maybe in the 1790's; probably
crossed the river from KY. I just need that ONE person with the old family
bible or grandma's story to nail it. Thanks for looking. Bob Foster.
Looking for information on the family of Silas White who moved from Muskingum
County, Ohio to Lawrence County, Illinois in 1848. Silas was a wagonmaker in
Ohio and may have been one in Illinois. His son, Joseph Trimble White was a
wagonmaker in Lawrenceville and died there 15 Dec 1904. Joseph was my g-g-
grandfather. Joseph married my g-g-grandmother, Clarissa Powers on 25 March
1857 in Lawrenceville and she died in 1878 in Lawrence Co., IL. Need any
information on Silas, Joseph or Clarissa.
Thanks for any help, Gerald Powers White II
Looking for the family of Lewis CAUGHRAN (COUGHRAN) b. 1811 in Illinois,

Thanks, Bob Foster
