Greetings everyone!!
Will you please take a moment to welcome our newest cc's to ILGenWeb?
Karen Smith-Schottenbauer is the new coordinator of Stephenson. Karen has
roots in Stephenson County and is very excited about coordinating the
county. She has not worked on websites for a few years; however, she plunged
right in, Dreamweaver books in hand, and is doing a great job!! She is
determined and motivated! At my request, Karen has provided a short bio: I
currently live in Rice Lake WI with my 15 y.o. son, Robby. I also have a 24
y.o. daughter Meghann who lives in Eau Claire. My 3 other 'kids' are my 3
kitties! I work with ShopKo here in Rice Lake and am on the management team
here as a Supervisor. Also I have been very happily divorced for 6 years
this summer! Besides genealogy, I enjoy gardening, reading books on
spirituality, I journal daily, during the summer months I enjoy boating or
just being on or near water! I look forward to being part of the team &
getting to know everyone!
Additionally, I found out this evening that Pat Thomas has decided to
coordinate Knox County. She is also excited, determined, motivated, and
ready to get started! Pat has always been associated with Knox County and
has been the Asst CC while Knox was on the adoption list. She has been with
ILGenWeb since December of 1997 (according to an old membership roster I
found last night). She was also an Asst CC on Mercer County. We are very
happy that she has decided to coordinate Knox!!
I wanted to send this message out this evening, so I did not have time to
ask Pat for a bio as I did with Karen. Pat, if you want to take a moment to
tell us a bit about yourself and your connection to Knox, we would like to
know a bit more.
Karen and Pat, welcome to ILGenWeb!! You are joining a wonderful group. If
either of you need some assistance or have any questions, the
IL-Chat(a)rootsweb.com list is set up for help, tips, chit chat, special
projects, notices of genealogical interest, etc. Occasionally, Dorothy and
Gloria entertain us with some great jokes. Also, if we have any Dreamweaver
users out there (I use Dreamweaver and I am on Chat), your assistance would
be appreciated on the Chat list should any questions arise. If anyone would
like to be subbed to IL-Chat, please let me know.
Thanks everyone,
Deb (who is dreadfully tired of this cold bone-chilling Chicago weather,
will Spring ever arrive?)
