Just wanted to let you all know that we now have all the Polk County Township Pages up on our IGS Iowa Veterans Group web site at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~iagsvg/igsvets.html
Keep in mind, all the County Pages are up, but only the Polk County Townships are completed. I plan to start putting names of Veterans on those pages in the next few days. We still have a long way to go, but we are getting there slow but sure.
I also found out today that someone dressed in a Revolutionary Uniform will be present at the East Village Promenade, in the Iowa Genealogical Society Library on Friday, November 16th, which runs from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The IGS Iowa Veterans Group will have a table as well.
If you have any questions please give me a call at (515) 266-5326, or drop me an email at webbp(a)dwx.com

In addition we need to discuss a way to show our support for the troops serving now. You are encouraged to attend with your memories and ideas.

We hope you will take part in both the plans for the Promenade at our meeting on Saturday the 10th, as well as attending the Promenade on Friday the 16th.
At our meeting on December 8, 2007 we will have a guest speaker, Mike Vogt, who will be speaking on the Veterans Museum at Camp Dodge. We may make plans for our group to meet at the Museum for a guided tour in the future.
