Clearwater and Latah Counties checking in.
I've started on the countdown to March 1st. That is when my husband will be
retiring and I will get to have him here all the time! (Yes, I am excited.
We have been living 300+ miles apart for 13 months now and have seen each
other only every other weekend.)

Subject: [IDGENWEB] January 6, 2012 - Roll Call
Hi Idahoans,
Happy 2012! It’s a new year which means it’s time to set your resolution in
gear for this year. Guess what, Idahoans?!? It’s our first roll of the year
too. J I’ve notices that others have started it earlier this week as we
greeted each other for the new year. But this is my official call, so
please bear with me. J
Not much happened over the last couple of week for me, other than my normal
stuff of reading and studying about history in my graduate courses. This
week I have two book review essays due. I read Elinore Pruitt Stewart’s
Letters of a Woman Homesteader and Lorien Foote’s The Gentlemen and the
Roughs: Manhood, Honor and Violence in the Union Army. Both books are quite
good. Both can be found on Amazon.com’s Kindle books too, so you don’t have
to wait for a physical copy.
I’ve started my new year resolution already as some of you may have notice
it on my Facebook. So it is a work in progress for me as well as writing in
my journal daily. Except yesterday, I didn’t do an entry because my sinuses
clouded my head to think properly. Yes, I have a sinus infection. Yuck! I
hate being sick. Of course, I do need to get over this ASAP for I have to
work on two more essays which are due at the end of February. One is on a 19
th century historian, Francis Parkman and the other is the ordeals of
Arkansas Confederate women went through during the Civil War. I was hoping
to do something on women in Idaho but never got much response from you. So
I went with the Arkansas women since I still live across the street from
UCA library where I could get my sources.
Well, if you haven’t check in for the month and some of you have do so.
Thanks to Chris alert email about some phone scammer, please be careful to
not respond to them. If in doubt contact me, Vikkie, or Sharon about it.
Have a great weekend,
Matt
