Parkman's historical works requires a very clear mind to read. Often I find
myself not interested in his preference of subject matter. One of the
greatest problem I have of him is his rather blunt and chauvinistic manner
in his works. This has to do with his upbringing and education at Harvard,
especially when merely all of his pride strongly lend towards his Bostonian
Brahmin heritage. He and a few others (Adams, Bancroft, Motley, Prescott,
Palfrey) are all related to the Adamses somehow or another.

Subject: [IDGENWEB] Final Roll Call for January -- Jan. 27, 2012
Hello Idahoans,
I just realized that today is Friday and Friday means it’s Roll Call day! I
merely went a whole day go by without making this call for our final roll
call of the month of January. I’m sure many of you, it probably won’t
matter. Nonetheless, I’m calling it. J
Well, where’s everyone’s feedback on Sharon’s idea of putting up a IDGenWeb
Project page for the 150th Anniversary of the Idaho Territorial event. I
know I have a few things that can be added from past SC. What can you do to
help bring this page to a great success and be a part of the Idaho
experience. Here’s the e-zine from ISHS,
http://us1.campaign-archive2.com/?u=8a59045b76ba76cd6b2ad4f97&id=4ded...
.
Also, IGS is doing something as well. Learn more about it contact Juvanne
Martin.
Juvanne is also looking for volunteers to sign up with them for
transcribing the upcoming 1940 federal census release in April. If you
would like to be a part of that, read about this at
http://www.idahogenealogy.org/Volunteer.html.
Well I have two or three more books to finish up my notes for Francis
Parkman’s essay. Now does someone want to take a look into my brain and
write it for me? Man, I am extremely tired of all of this reading this
week. My juggling between in-class participation and readings it’s class
assignments which never leave much room for me to do my research project.
<grrraugh> Oh well! I going to survive, right?! Please, someone put me out
of my mis-s-s-s-er-er-er-ery!
Well I hope all is well in your neck of the woods! I know it’s been very
strange weather here in Arkansas. It can’t seems to make up it’s mind.
Warm, cold, warm, cold, and warm again. Gheez!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
