Mags - thanks for digging deeper. I heard abt this awhile back, but didn't see how I
could access it from rural Gem Co. I think they've added
heritagequest.com to the
lili.org since the last time I looked at the site.

Okay, here's the gouge/dope/info: The Boise City Library cards are reserved
to Boise City taxpayers since they pay into the pot that funds the City
Library. People outside this group can get a nonresident card, but it costs
the same as what the taxpayers put into the system which works out to be
about $69/year. Individual searches can be requested for $5/each request.
So not real viable if you aren't a Boise City Resident, although she said
she believed they honored cards from the "immediately" surrounding cities,
i.e. Meridian, Garden City, Eagle etc.
Further, she forwarded some additional info which I'll just cut and paste
below: Hope this is more beneficial than frustrating. VR. Mags.
Thanks so much for visiting our website! I'm glad you found something that
you found useful for yourself and the other members of your organization.
You can learn a bit more about our other options for geneaology research
here:
1) Access to Heritage Quest for any state of Idaho resident:
www.lili.org
2) Idaho/Obituary Research request from the Idaho Statesman by our research
team:

If you have any questions or if I can help with anything else, just let me
know.
Thanks again and have a great night!

Okay, I'm usually the last guy on the block to learn stuff, so if some of
you are aware of this already, sorry. Found out you can research online in
the Boise Public Library System, and The Statesman (including obits and
death notices). There is a free area open to the world (provides an index),
but if you have a Boise Idaho Library card, you can sign in and read the
info online. All you have to do is sign-in with your library card bar code
number.
The link is for the Main page, and shows all the search areas. To get into
the obits, select Newspapers. VR, Mags
