This has been an exceptionally busy week for contributions to Gem Co.
A
woman I chatted with on RW messageboard sent me 10 fgs, plus several
photographs. At least one of the families settled here in the 1860's & has
generated a lot of interest. Good to get so much new info on-line.

Good Evening Idahoans,
Today’s the last Friday of the month of April. Thus far we’ve gotten 89%
attendance for the month. Thanks for doing this part of your
responsibilities. I know many of you are busy like myself but it is only
one time in a month that you need to check in.
Okay, enough said there … how’s everyone doing? I hope well considering the
month is almost over and summer will soon be ushering in most places.
Arkansas has been warm weather for the past six or so weeks. Of course, we
are beginning to get that muggy humidity and we probably going to have a
long hot summer.
Well, I am into my eighth week of graduate school and will be busy with
writing my three research paper in the next week or so. To be honest, I’m
getting worn out with writing and studying since I never gotten a long
enough break between the two terms to get revitalized for a new term. But I
guess that school, huh?!
Well, last I heard the Idaho is nearly 99+% done for the 1940 census.
Congratulation for a job well done for those who took the time to volunteer
in helping out doing the indexing, I am sure Juvanne Martin from IGS is
ecstatic about it for all the help. She told me there was 60 or 70
volunteers under IGS group. Way to go, Idahoans. But don’t stop there try
to work on the others states too. I still haven’t found my father in
California yet. I did my mother, but not him.
If any of you have some old Idaho historical or genealogical books from
1930 or older and would like to donate them to the IDGenWeb resource
library. I would be willing to take those books from you. My mailing
address is located on the IDGenWeb Project.
Another thing, THANKS to Kelly and Virginia for the help with our latest
query. The help you offered was accepted with gratitude. Virginia, and also
to others, this mailing list does not accept any kind of attachment files.
Please send them directly to me next time. Thanks again ladies. You've
earned your "brownie" badges. <smiles>
Well, have a great weekend,
Matt Friend
