I had a personal friend of mine who said she worked in the mines. but no
proof of it. Her name was Birdie Hilmo, nee George. She died in 1989.

I have a request of the IDGenWeb Team! Have any of you came across
documentations of women working as miners in the Idaho mining districts?
When I was researching about Idaho women in the mining districts, I’ve came
across only one article by the Idaho Statesman Journal, “Woman is a
Mineowner. Coal and Gold Property in Blaine County” on January 12, 1911.
Have you seen other documentations of a woman like this one owning or
working in the mining districts? Please contact me if you have. I’m
interested in putting together a research paper about this. Thanks!
Matt
