I have posted an 1884 Idaho map showing the counties at that time. It can be linked to
at

This map is from Google Books and they don't care about use as long as their name
stays on it. They posted it in PDF format. I changed it to JPG.
I have another map of Idaho's counties from 1909 in color and high quality. If I can
just remember where I got it, I'll check on copyright. Maybe it can be posted as
well.

oops! looks like this didn't go when I sent it before my vacation. I'd forgotten
that mailing lists do not display attachments.

Great! Gem, Boise & Valley all work.?
Somewhere I've seen maps of the counties at various stages of creation -- I
thought it was in an old Blue Book, but so far I haven't found it again. I did
find?a couple?on-line, I think from google-books, but I've hestitated to put
them on the Boise Co. site because of copyright. (Rod at the archives spooked
me.) If we can find maps of the counties at various periods in their evolution,
I think it would help folks to see how the boundaries have changed.

I've created an image map that links from a map of Idaho to the IDGENWEB
websites for each county.? Note that this is still undergoing proofing so there
could be errors.? It is not linked and available to the general public.? I would
appreciate your assistance in testing it - particularly as it relates to your
county or counties.? If you have time and can try it out, I'd really appreciate
any feedback you'd care to give.? Note also that I don't have any tools that
help do this automatically - I just eyeball the coordinates.? So don't fret
about how close you can get to your county boundary and still have it work. The
bulk of the county area should take you to the proper county website when
clicked. Right along the border will be some dead spots that don't link
anywhere. The coordinates I used are intentionally just a tad away from the
boundaries so I wouldn't accidentally pick up the adjacent county.
Here is the link to this test page:
