Thanks Jen. What I need actually is someone to be more of a tour guide for
a patron who I've been help with some of his Idahoan ancestors. He wanted
to visit his father's birth town (Emmett) and the local hospital or where
he might have been born and any school that might have been around in the
early 1930s before he was submitted to the Boise Children home in the mid
1930s, and visit his grandmother's grave in the Riverside Cemetery, which
she will be buried next to her step-son. I just don't know if there's any
Coffey/Coffee-Cast family in the area or not. I have contact of his cousin
in Canada who are a part of the Cast family relation.
I just need to gather more information from the birth certificate and other
documents I have to see where I can organize this tour for him.
This patron will be coming from a tiny country called Andorra, situated
between Spain and France. His father had left the U.S. in the early 1970s
and started a family of one child. The son is wishing to visit his father's
homeland since he told him nothing about it while growing up. This man's a
lawyer in his own country and a member of the country's Parliament
government.
He's planning to come to Idaho in the latter part of October. He'll fly in
to Seattle, then to Boise. I'll have him visit the Boise Children Home
there where his father had been for about a year before being placed to a
family in another county. I forget which one at this moment.
This is what I need help with locating and acting to be a tour guide for
him.
Matt

I would be happy to help if I can. I've been through Emmett once,
but never
to Emmett as a destination. I'll ask some locals who may be more familiar
with it. It's growing larger like most of Treasure Valley and the greater
Boise area. Traditionally, it's been mostly agricultural/ farming and
cattle ranching.
I can also check out the Idaho room at our library. There are a lot of
books, historical items etc. that you can't find digitized anywhere. Do
you know what they did for occupations, the time period or a surname to
research?
Let me know what specifically I can do to help, and I'll do my best.
Thanks
Jen
