Because of the recent messages Charlotte posted on this mailing list and sent by other
means, I thought I owed you all an explanation.
Back on the 17th of July, Charlotte resigned as coordinator for Owyhee and Blaine
Counties, indicating she was no longer able to take care of this. Over the course of the
next week or so I was able to recruit as the new CC for Owyhee county an excellent
researcher, Jimmy Parker, who had grown up in the County and had ancestral roots there.
Then on the 27th of August, Charlotte send a message to a large group of correspondents,
but not including me, saying she had decided she wanted to keep the counties.
Once I got a copy from one of the recipients, I sent a message back to Charlotte letting
her know that Owyhee was no longer available, but that I was willing to let her have
Blaine back. I didn't get any reply back, and have attempted to reach her by email
again to determine her degree of interest in returning as a CC in Idaho.
It feels like I have offended Charlotte, but I assure you all that was not my intention.
I do appreciate all the work she has done over many years, and I know that many of you
have received useful information from her. If any of you have a relationship with her,
I'd appreciate your letting her know that I'd like very much to talk with her and
to get her rolling again on Blaine County, if that is her desire.
