I too type in all my own codes in Notepad & I use a style sheet. I started three
or four years ago with a book entitled "Easy Web Design" They have some free
help on their website
http://www.creationguide.com/ which I use along with a
"dummies" book & the
w3schools.com site. (Sometimes one writer explains
something better than another.)
Whoever had a couple of these counties before me was using web building software
that seems to have made it a lot harder than necessary, with a lot of extraneous
coding. Some pages, especially with tables, I have reduced by half with editing
-- such as eliminating the <p></p> within <td></td>'s.
Possibly your old software added coding that you don't need & cluttered up the
pg, making it hard to find your way around.

Charlotte,
I don't know if I can be of much help to you, but I type in all my own codes,
etc in Notepad. I've never used a web page editor and don't know that I really
want to try.
When I started with one site on usgw, my mentor referred me to a free html
tutorial, which was a godsend. I've got it bookmarked and still refer to it
when I want to do something I haven't tried before! It has html, javascript and
css, as well. (Sometimes I like to experiment!)

Have you tried just opening your pages in notepad? When I've taken over a site,
even if they used a web page editor, I'm still able to open the pages there and
run with them....

I'm having trouble finding a web page software that I can work with. I put my
web pages on the internet 15 years ago by sitting a book in front of me called
"html for dummies" and typing in all that html stuff. then I used Microsoft
windows and it was very easy. Now I have windows 7 and they have eliminated
the web page making part of it. Can anyone help? I've tried Web Easy - no luck
importing my existing sites- Now I have Serif Web page plus. - no luck
importing my web pages as they are. I don't want to retype all the info I have
on those web pages.
HELP!!!!
