The Idaho State Capitol Building has just been renovated and in January this year it was
rededicated. The Idaho Genealogical Society has arranged for their annual meeting (being
done jointly with the Idaho State Historical Society/State Archives) this year to be
spread over two days and to take advantage of the beautifully restored Capitol. On Friday
October 8th, the meetings will be held in the Capitol Building and will include a number
of speakers. I will be one of those, speaking about USGenWeb and IDGenWeb. It will
really be fun to do that right in this wonderful building. Also on October 8th there will
be two special tours of the building for IGS attendees - one in the morning and one in the
afternoon. On Saturday, October 9th, the meetings will be held at the Idaho State
Archive's Research Center. On that morning I've arranged for a room at the
Archives and would love to have a meeting with any IDGenWeb coordinators or USGenWeb
coordinators who are able to be present. If you live in Boise, or within easy driving
distance, or are willing to drive further than that, you are heartily invited to meet with
some of you co-workers in a great setting. This will also help you meet and establish
relationships with some of the IGS and ISHS and Archives members/workers.
I will provide more details when they are available. I also encourage you to make sure
your local societies know about this if you live near any of your counties or if you know
local society officers or members.
