Hi Doug,
Welcome to the IDGenWeb gang. My husband, Jerry, has roots in Bear Lake
County. His great grandfather, John Bott Thornock was selected to go to
Bear Lake with Brigham Young in 1864. John Thornock was prepared to stay in
Bear Lake Valley if his services were needed. Apparently they were because
he stayed and raised a large family. John Thornock also assisted in laying
out the townsite of Bloomington.
Just interesting trivia. Good luck, Doug.
