Well, its the last day of June. Elections officially begin July 1. Each of you will be
able to vote for two County or Local Coordinator representatives. (The Local is because
Louisianna has parishes and Alaska has Boroughs and they objected to County.)
We will also be asked to vote yes or no on the proposed bylaws. All the biographies and
names of the candidates can be found at
http://www.usgenweb.org/official/official.html
Please notice there are two sets of bylaws. The one we are voting on is the latest
version at
http://www.usgenweb.org/official/propbylaws.html
The bylaws are very important. Whether they pass or not will determine the direction and
future of the entire USGenWeb Project. The elected officers will come and go. Some will
be good, some won't. But the Project stands at a crossroad with this election because
of
the bylaws descision. Please give the matter your careful attention.
FYI: What I did was print the bylaws. Then I chose two different colored pencils and
scribbled all over them. One color for what I liked and one for what I didn't. They
are
clearer and easier to read than the first set. Then I've left them alone for a couple
of
days. Tomorrow I'm going to read completely through them again and decide how to
vote.
P.S. If you're anything at all like me, if you leave voting until the last week
you'll
forget all about it. Please consider voting early. The way the software is set up you can
vote again if you change your mind. Its only the last vote you submit that counts.
