If your grandfather obtained a land patent, you can get a copy from the
Bureau of Land Managment in Boise. The BLM in Boise has all old Land Office
records, including Hailey. If so, you can also get case file papers from
the National Archives.
I'm not sure what you mean by coordinates. If it were in surveyed public
domain, the land should be described by Township (T.), Range (R.), Section
and Subdvision. At any rate, go to: Federal Land Records in Idaho
<
http://home.rmci.net/dyingst/fedland.htm>, which I wrote. This will
explain the records and how to get copy of a patent and how to order case
file papers from the Archives.
If you just have a name, BLM will make a name search. If you have a copy,
it will be much easier if you provide them the Name, Patent Number, Legal
Description and Act under which the land was patented; probably a homestead.
I hope this helps.
