To all IDGenWeb volunteers,
I've really enjoyed being the State Coordinator for this project the
past
41/2 years. However, the time has come to turn the task over to
someone
else. I'm not leaving, really, I still have three counties.
I'll be
available to answer any questions the new SC may have.
The USGenWeb bylaws require an election to choose a new SC. The
details of
the election are left to the state. Here are my thoughts:
1. A three person committee to whom all nominations and votes are sent
simultaneously.
2. A two week nomination or volunteer period.
3. A seven day voting period.
4. The committee counts the votes (no chads please!), and announces
the
results within 24 hours of the close of polling.
Discussion?

Thanks very much, Elaine! You've been a joy to work with.
As a fan of physics, I've learned that Einstein showed that
simultaneity doesn't exist, and in any case, I don't quite follow your
thought #1: Is the idea that we would send our nominations and votes
to each of the three people on the committee, who would then run
separate tallies and reconcile what they had received at the end of the
two-week nomination period and at the end of the one-week voting
period?
Thanks again,
