Mags checking in here. Bonnie, the historian in Clark County and I have
been working on putting together a Cemetery list. Right now we are focused
on getting as many interments recorded as possible. In light of the effort
to specifically note the military, I will focus on that once the other has
been posted. VR. Mags

Glad to hear you're doing good out in the SW Idaho region, especially with
the fires. Fires + High Temp = Scorchers, right?!

Sharon, checking in for Gem, Valley, Canyon & Adams Cos.
Temps in low 90's & smokey in SW Idaho. Just checked the fire dispatch site & it looks like they're getting a handle on some of the fires.

Hi Idahoans,
It’s August roll call. Hope your summer is going great so far. Mine has been
spending it inside and working on our latest project---Idaho Military
Project (http://military.idgenweb.org/). Especially this week since the heat
index has been over 100 degree. Of course, for the most part of this week
was spent in the Workforce Center on some refresher courses for a potential
job I am seeking after. Now I need to call back the recruiter and make an
appointment to finish our interview.
Watch for your email in the coming weeks for our state election for a new
State Coordinator. There will be a period of nomination selection, then
campaigning, and then our voting time for whomever is running for the SC
position. If you have desire to run for this position or can think of others
that could be a great SC for our IDGenWeb Project Team, then put in your bid
during the first week or so of our opening announcement.
As I am finishing up with our latest project, the Idaho Military Project, I
would love to get more veterans names listed from your local cemeteries onto
this system. If you have a general listing of veterans in your cemeteries;
then please forward this list to me so that I can add them to our list. Of
course, I am adding more than just those names. I am hoping to find any
listing of those who served in various wars I have listed, which I am
working on now. Each war will have a listing of counties of those veterans
buried within that county. I am adding others who have been an Idahoans for
more than 10 or 20 years, had to move out of state, and buried elsewhere.
Those names can be included.
Well, folks this is the month of August and you need to place your name on
out monthly roll call list.
Have a great summer,
Matt Friend
