Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
It is working great, Mike. I
clicked on Canyon and went right there. However, when I clicked
surrounding counties, Gem took me to Adams.

Subject: [IDGEN] Idaho County Map with links to County Websites
I've created an image map that links from a map of Idaho to the IDGENWEB
websites for each county. Note that this is still undergoing proofing so there
could be errors. It is not linked and available to the general public. I would
appreciate your assistance in testing it - particularly as it relates to your
county or counties. If you have time and can try it out, I'd really appreciate
any feedback you'd care to give. Note also that I don't have any tools that
help do this automatically - I just eyeball the coordinates. So don't fret
about how close you can get to your county boundary and still have it work. The
bulk of the county area should take you to the proper county website when
clicked. Right along the border will be some dead spots that don't link
anywhere. The coordinates I used are intentionally just a tad away from the
boundaries so I wouldn't accidentally pick up the adjacent county.

Mitch,
I have been indexing some Canyon County Court files over at the archives and
have found a bunch of files that are for Emmett area when it was in Canyon
County. Gem County was formed from Boise and Canyon counties in 1915. So up
until then you might find records in either of the other counties.

I wasn't aware Emmett was ever in Canyon County. Do you know what year the map
was printed?

Thanks, Sharon. I knew the county boundaries had changed over the years. I've never studied them in detail. I was surprised to see Emmett on the Canyon side of the line. Never thought of that ...

I read the date as Oct. 27, 1897,?on the reduced copy ?that I have. I will
double-check with my friend at the assessor's office as to the date on the full

Hi Everyone,
The AB was approached by Mike St. Clair about helping with an election for
State Coordinator for IDGenWeb. I, along with Suzanne Shephard and Larry
Flesher, will be handling the election. Here's the plan:
On 15 July we will pull a list of IDGenWeb coordinators and that list will
be the one that we use to determine the voter list.
Beginning at 12:01 am EDT 20 July, a 3-day period for nominations will be
open. Nominations will close at 11:59 pm EDT on 22 July. As soon as
nominations close, campaigning will begin and will last until 11:59 pm EDT
on 25 July. The link for the voting site will be sent out on 25 July and
voting will commence at 12:01 am EDT on 26 July 01. A form will be set up
for use as the ballot, and copies will be sent to the three of us that will
be holding the election, with a copy also sent to the voter. Votes
submitted prior to the 12:01 am EDT on 26 July 01 will not be counted.
Voting will end at 8:00 pm EDT on 31 July, unless votes from all eligible
members of IDGenWeb are received prior to that, and the announcement of the
winner will be made as soon after that as possible. The new State
Coordinator will take office on 1 August 2009.
If you have questions or concerns, please let us know. We're all subbed to
this mail list now, or our email addresses are:

Thanks everyone,

If you are talking about the Pearl cemetery plat, I'm looking at it on my
1280x800 laptop screen. The whole image doesn't show unless you change the
scale, but that's easy for the viewer to do. I think it looks and works
great.

Since we will be having an election for State Coordinator here in the IDGENWEB Project later this month, I wanted to express a few thoughts and suggestions.
The election will begin with a short period for nominations starting on July 20th. You might be thinking ahead of that date about whether you are interested in being the State Coordinator (or willing to be). If you are not so interested, but there is someone you think would do a good job, you might talk to them ahead of time to determine if they would be willing to accept a nomination (or to try and talk them into it.) If you are interested in serving as an assistant State Coordinator, it wouldn't be a bad idea to express that as well since whoever is elected will probably want to make a selection of one or more assistants early on from among those interested and willing.
I'll let you all know that I am willing to serve as SC. I'm also willing to support another project member serving in that role if there is interest and support.
