MONTPELIER, Idaho - Dee Ross Hodges, 75, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Bear Lake
Skilled Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 24, 1935, in Garden City, Utah, to Ross Weston
Hodges and Mae Pope Hodges. He spent his youth growing up in Garden City.
After his graduation from North Rich High School, he married Janet Johnson on July 3,
1953, in Laketown, Utah.
He worked for a short time for Parson's Construction in Grantsville and then moved to
Logan to continue his education.
He and Janet returned to Laketown, where they continued to work and raise their family
until his passing. Dee loved his work with his father-in-law, Parnell Johnson, at
Johnson's Service Station in Laketown. In 1975 Dee and Janet took over the business,
changed the name to Dee's Super Service, and continued on the family legacy.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, snow skiing, water skiing, camping, fishing and winters in
Mesquite. He also served on the Laketown Town Board for a short time.
Dee is survived by his wife, Janet of Laketown, Utah; his three children, Jeff and Denise
Hodges of Sandy, Utah, Janiece and Dan Tyler of Montpelier, Idaho, and Dennis and Kris
Hodges of Laketown, Utah; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, in the Laketown LDS
chapel. A viewing will be held prior to services from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment will
be in the Laketown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Bear Lake
Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Dee's name.
