Gary Sigman Fuller, 70, surrounded by close friends and the spacious mountains he loved,
passed away on Jan. 15, 2012. Gary was born in Montpelier on April 26, 1941 to Stanley
"Boyd" Fuller and Cleo Mildred Sigman Fuller. He grew up in Cokeville and
graduated from Cokeville High School. Gary was a good athlete, excelled in track, and
held one of the track records at Cokeville High School for a number of years.
He married Faye Nate and they had two children. They were later divorced. Gary was a
livestock broker with his father, and they bought and sold livestock while he lived in
Cokeville. He was taught to butcher by Prosper Feraud, a well-known Basque sheep man in
Cokeville, and was known for his talent in this area. He was also a skilled meat cutter.
He moved to California and Idaho for a period of time and eventually moved back to
Gary was a quiet passionate man who treasured being in the outdoors and fly fishing.
These loves eventually landed him in the mountains of western Montana where he could enjoy
the rivers, lakes, and the quite peacefulness of the forest. He was also a very generous
man (at times to a fault) and attempted to help the "underdog" whenever possible
and would "give the shirt off his back" to anyone in need.
Gary is survived by his son, Gary Lance Fuller, his daughter, Erin Gae Fuller, and his
companion of 22 years, Sherry Peterson, who tirelessly cared for him in his final years.
A private memorial will be held in Troy, Mont. for his close friends. A memorial service
will be held on Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomews Episcopal Church in Cokeville. In
lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to this church.
