DINGLE - Florence S. Sorensen Ream, 86, passed away October 24, 2011, in Boise,
Idaho. Florence was born a twin in Twin Falls, Idaho, on a twin day, August 22, 1925. She
grew up in Buhl, Idaho, and graduated from Utah Agricultural College in Logan, Utah,
with a degree in home economics. After graduation she taught school in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Her roommate was Mary Ida Ream from Dingle, Idaho.
One weekend Mary Ida invited her to Dingle to go deer hunting. There she met Jean Ream,
Mary Ida's brother. Jean and Florence were married September 13, 1950, in the Logan
Temple. They made their home in Dingle, Idaho, and raised eight children.
Florence served in many callings in the church. She was a member of the Hospital
Auxiliary, the DUP and the Bear Lake Literary Women's Book Club.
Florence loved people, she loved to have parties, and she loved to have fun. She
enjoyed being outdoors. She could name every bird and flower she saw.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Ream, her twin brother, Foster
Sorensen, and two sisters, Anna Eldredge and Murriel Smith. She is survived by her sister,
Eva Nuffer, of Aurora, Oregon; her two brothers, Richard (Maureen) Sorensen of Boise,
Idaho, and Wayne (Deanna) Sorensen of Hayden Lake, Idaho; and all eight of her children,
Carla (Russ) Baxter, Mountain Home, Idaho, Wesley-Wes (Jeralyn) Ream, Orem, Utah, Foster
(Sharla) Ream, Brigham City, Utah, Rebecca Hansen, Brigham City, Utah, George Ream,
Kearns, Utah, David (Heidi) Ream, Dingle, Idaho, Rachel (Clyde) Jensen, Montpelier, Idaho,
William-Bill (Beth) Ream, Caldwell, Idaho; and 42 grandchildren and 16
Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the Dingle LDS
Church. Friends may call prior to services from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
There will be a night visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. at Matthews Mortuary on Friday, October
28, 2011. Interment will be in the Dingle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations be made to the Bear Lake
Hospital Auxiliary, or the Perpetual Education Fund.
