Leonard John Peck, 73, left this earthly home on Tuesday, June 12, at the Portneuf Medical
Center in Pocatello. He leaves behind his loving wife, Marge Peck and son Richard (Moriah
Shepard) Peck and their children (Len's treasures), Charlie and Jayra. Also his
children shared with Marge, Jerry (Jenny) Sheppard, Marlana (Paul Stettler) Shepard, Rand
(Char) Shepard, Reg (Donna) Sheppard, Vela (Royce) Matson and also Aunt Iris and many
cousins in England. Len is also greatly loved and missed by his 31 grandkids, 59 great-
grandkids and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Katie and father, Leonard William Peck, half
siblings, Peter, Harold, Basil, Cynthia and Josephine as well as foster brother Eddie and
best-mate Tony Newlove.
Len was born in Woking, Hertfordshire, England on Sept. 10, 1938 where he was a nurse,
police officer, counselor, enlisted in signal corps in the military and security services
for the Queen. He worked in Australia on the railroad and as a lifeguard. He moved to the
U.S. in 1990 to marry Marge Sheppard in Washington State and began his American adventure
there working in security. The last 20 years he has lived in Montpelier, bringing joy to
residents at Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility activities like Patch Adams as well as on
the Oregon Trail and personality of Bear Lake Interviews on KVSI Radio and Senior Citizens
activities. He was a High Priest and served a stake mission for the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be greatly missed by family and many friends.
Funeral services for Len were held June 16, in Montpelier. The interment was in the
Montpelier Cemetery with services under the direction of the Matthews Mortuary of
