PARIS, - Mildred Nye Taylor, 91, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009, in Montpelier Idaho,
of causes incident to age.
She was born in Paris, Idaho, on June 11, 1917, to Joseph Nye and Elizabeth Maughan.
On May 9, 1946, in Aztec New Mexico, Mildred married Willard (Bill) Nye. Bill preceded her
in death in October 1971. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.
Mildred and Bill were the parents of Terrance Nye, who died two weeks after his birth on
December 15, 1949.
On July 16, 1975, Mildred married Carson Taylor; he preceded her in death on January 23,
Mildred enjoyed fishing trips and camping with Bill and many picnics in the canyons around
Bear Lake Valley, especially Paris Canyon. Many of the picnics were enjoyed with family
members who came to visit her and Bill during summer vacations.
Mildred was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed many
years serving in many capacities. She especially enjoyed serving as an extractor in the
genealogy program for 13 years. She was a visiting teacher for many years. She was an
active member of the DUP.
She worked as a civil servant for the Selective Service Board for many years and various
secretarial jobs prior to her civil service years, including secretary to the Logan Temple
Mildred is survived by her sister, Beth Austin, of Ogden Utah; and many nieces, nephews,
sons and daughters in-law; and numerous grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were
her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth, her son, Terrance, and a brother, Ross.
The family also gives special thanks to the Bear Lake Manor Assisted Living Center, and
the staff at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Monday May, 11, 2009, at the Paris Stake Center at noon.
There will be a viewing will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at the Paris Stake Center. Interment
will be in the Paris Cemetery.
